The Princess is in!

Em cracks me up. Lately she has been quite the proper princess. She can often be found wearing her princess atire or waving her magic "lawnd."

Today at the store I was trying on some clothes and asked, "Em how do I look?" She responded with all earnestness "very distinguished." Where does she come up with these things?

I am planning on going private in a couple of weeks, in case you didn't see the previous post, so be sure to leave an e-mail address if you want me to give you permission.

Going Private

My husband is not a big fan of the public blog thing, so I guess I am going to go private. Leave a comment if you want access. Lame, but I guess we have to keep the kiddos safe. If you want to e-mail me instead of leaving a comment send it to jennifer.hales@jacobs.com.

Dj Daddy Dance Party

Ryan is a pretty cute daddy. He really loves his girls, all three of us! Lately at night he has been queuing up youtube and dancing with the girls. They LOVE it! Tonight's play list included "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus, "Body Language" by Jesse M. and T-Pain, a couple of Alvin and the Chipmunks songs, Who Let the Dogs Out and this really funny Swedish Anime song. The girls danced until they dropped. I love listening to their giggles and seeing the giant smiles on their faces. Such a fun night!

Toilet Obsessed

I cannot seem to keep Chloe out of the toilet these days. In the past 24 hours I have fished out two necklaces, one pretend thermometer, a finger puppet, an entire roll of toilet paper, a hair bow, and a head band. All of these were at different times. This new phase is driving me batty. We are locked up at home sick and I have to get something turned in for work, the girls are going STIR CRAZY.

Chloe is a little one that needs her beauty rest. When she is tired there is no getting around it. Lately she has been dragging her blanket into her room (up the stairs if necessary) and then sitting by her crib and sucking her thumb when she is ready for bed. There really is no questioning that she is tired, she gives all the signs short of asking for a nap and crawling into her crib :-)

The Good and Not So Good

Last Friday was a fun day we went to the aquarium and Mikell came over to play while I got my hair cut. However, as I was doing laundry at the end of the day and the girls decided to paint themselves! Here is the documentation of our day.

She Cracks Me Up

So I know that I have been posting a lot of funny things Em says lately, but there have been a lot. My favorite is, every time she burps she giggles and says "the frog in my tummy says ribbit."

If you know Emily you know she is not shy tonight as we were picking up pizza at Papa Murphys Emily started talking to a total stranger while I was paying for our pizza. When I came over she was laughing and told me that she had just came up to her and said "my mommy is super cute hu?" I think that one may have been influenced by her cute daddy.

The other day we were in the car and she was in her car seat, she was sad and wanted to hold my hand. I told her that my hand wasn't long enough to reach. She told me "let's put some water on your arm and then it will grow big and strong." Guess she was listening when we talked about how plants grow.

I have photographic evidence of some less cute things the girls are responsible for, but my camera is downstairs and I am upstairs and it has been a long day. Chloe has entered the destructive phase and with Emily around my house most often looks like a hurricane just swept through.

Today we went to the dino museum at Thanksgiving Point and to Toys R Us. Both activities were super fun. The girls LOVE LOVE LOVE dinos. Chloe was excited about running around the museum and playing with a dino puzzle. Emily was excited about the erosion table, building a giant dino, and making fossil rubbings. Overall it was nice to get out and spend some time with the fam. The tulips are coming along nicely at Thanksgiving Point and I can't wait for the festival! Spring is finally here and the beautiful evidence is all around. I love when everything starts to turn green. Another few weeks and we should be in full bloom!

St. Patty's Day

We had some fun friends over for St. Patrick's Day today. It was so much fun and the girls had a BALL! Thanks everyone for coming!

More Emily-isms

Last night I was putting Emily in her car seat, she was not going for it and wanted to instead sit in a seat belt. I told her that she had to sit in her car seat or the police would get mad at daddy and take him to jail. To which she responded "I will miss daddy at jail." Apparently even the threat of incarceration was not enough to get her to budge!

Bargains

I come from a long and proud line of "bargain hunters," also referred to as cheap skates (potato-po-tat-o). ANYWAY, following in the proud tradition, I am always on the prowl for a good deal. Sometimes I strike pay dirt and get a darling winter sweater for $0.99, more often however, I find that my drive to save money comes back to bite me. Often this is manifest at this time of year. Last year, I found a darling Easter dress at Gap for $3 for Chloe, pay dirt! Hummm next thing I know I have to buy the matching dress for Em (that was not on sale) for $30, also since they were both sleeveless and it was a bit nippy outside I had to get two white sweaters ($16, and $19, also not on sale), by the time we were done with shoes and tights I was wondering if my $3 buy was really such a good deal. This year the bargain gods got me again. One night I was shopping with my sister. She is in CT, so we were shopping by phone. We would explain the items to each other and with the assistance of the internet decide if we were going to buy them. It was a convoluted process but SO much fun. In the process we were discussing swimsuits for Emily. I found the one I really wanted from Gap for $20, but I found an adequate one at Old Navy for $10. Ultimately, we decided that I would buy a bunch of stuff at the store for her that was not available on-line and send it to her, and she would use her 30% off coupon and free shipping to buy the swimsuit for Em, making it only a few dollars more than the Old Navy swimsuit. The crazy cheap skate in me thought this was a good idea. A few days later the package arrived...with the wrong swimsuit. After waiting two weeks for swimsuits to be available in the store I returned the wrong one and "exchanged" it for the right one...However, when you return something to the store and buy something else, you don't get the original discount. Sooo I ended up paying $20 for the stupid swimsuit anyway and I had to make an extra trip to the store. I think I need to silence the inner cheap skate and instead listen to the logical voice instead. Although that voice is much quieter and harder to hear while in the shopping frenzy.

Finally Finished

I am finally finished with my ABC book, and while most of you I am sure don't care, I am going to post the remaining pages, because it was a lot of work I want someone to look at them :-) I am going to send it to the printer today. I can't wait to get it back. Maybe this will be the motivation I need to actually get something printed for the girls. FYI if anyone wants to use the templates to make their own ABC book let me know and I would be happy to share. I made them in photoshop elements, so they are psd files. All of the pages use frames, so all you have to do is drag and drop different photos in them.
